ABA 2009 Fall Meeting

26 Oct 09

Dr. Leonardo Giacchino, partner and founder of Solutions Economics LLC, participated in the American Bar Association Section of International Law 2009 Fall Meeting.  He was a member of the panel “Dealing with Damages” on October 30, 2009 in Miami, Florida.

The discussion focused on the variety of calculation methods available for assessing damages for litigation and arbitration.  The professional and ethical guidance of an expert can significantly affect the expert’s analysis and conclusion.  Through use of a case study example, the panel highlighted these differences.

The panel was chaired by Richard E. Walck of Global Financial Analytics LLC and Lawrence W. Newman of Baker and McKenzie LLP.  Dr. Giacchino’s fellow speakers included Calvin Hamilton of Hamilton Abogados SL in Madrid, William H Knull III of Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw LLP in Houston and Craig S Miles of King & Spalding LLP in Houston.

Dr. Leonardo Giacchino has extensive expertise in international arbitration, global investor services, and regulatory strategy for utilities, and has testified before U.S. Courts, international arbitration courts, and public utility commissions in numerous countries.
