Fundamentals of Energy Regulation, Second Edition Review

BETHESDA, M.D., May 13, 2014— The first volume of the 2014 Energy Law Journal featured a review of Fundamentals of Energy Regulation, Second Edition, written by Dr. Leonardo Giacchino, partner and founder of Solutions Economics LLC,  and Dr. Jonathan Lesser, president of Continental Economics.  The book’s reviewer, Channing Strother, an attorney at Mogel & Sweet, has practiced energy law for over 34 years and serves as president of the Foundation of the Energy Law Journal as well as Chair of the Energy Bar Association’s Electricity Regulation Committee.  Mr. Strother writes that the book’s depth of content and accessibility make it useful to students, attorneys, and other professionals working in energy regulation and that the second edition keeps the book’s content up-to-date with the fast evolving energy field. Dr. Leonardo Giacchino provides valuation and economic analysis and advisory services in litigation matters. He has worked in more than 30 countries on over 100 projects addressing economic, financial and regulatory issues. He is also the coauthor (with Dr. Jonathan Lesser) of Fundamentals of Energy Regulation (PUR, 2007) and Principles of Utilities Corporate Finance (PUR, 2011).

Dr. Jonathan Lesser has almost 30 years of experience working for regulated utilities, the government, and as an economic consultant.  He has testified in U.S. Courts, public utility commissions, in the U.S. and Latin America and before legislative committees in numerous states on critical economic and regulatory issues affecting the energy industry.
