Solutions Economics founder and partner, Dr. Leonardo Giacchino, was featured as a guest speaker at the 2013 Modern Solutions Power Systems Conference in Chicago, Illinois, hosted by Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). The conference, which took place from June 5-7, is a unique event that fosters collaboration among professionals from a variety of industries and disciplines. The format features shorter presentations, leaving more time for attendees, technical experts, and industry leaders to ask questions, share knowledge, discuss best practices, and learn about new ideas and emerging technologies.
Dr. Giacchino delivered a presentation on Friday, June 7 entitled “Toward Deregulation: are Electricity Markets Competitive?” His presentation was part of the session on “Deregulation – What Works, What Doesn’t, and Where Do We Go from Here,” in which several experts discussed the performance and trends of regulated, deregulated, and government-run utility models.
